Product Recommendation: Annie’s Homegrown Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese

We arrived in Seattle last night . .  and the first place I hit was the grocery store. Around here, QFC, Quality Food Center, seems to be the go-to grocery chain. I have to find Trader’s Joe’s soon too. .   We’re going to be in temporary housing in downtown for a week. . .  the condo/apartment isn’t bad at all. .  has a pretty nice sized kitchen and all the amenities I need. It doesn’t, however, have many dishes or large pots/pans and all my kitchen gadgets . .  so I will make due with what I have for this week. .  and still try to make sure we eat healthy. I stocked up on fruits and veggies.  My girls will always eat the following: blueberries, bananas, oranges and apples. Veggies: I can usually always get them to eat carrots and broccoli and cucumbers. My youngest (age: one) is too young to know what she’s eating and thankfully, she is not picky right now. For the 4 year old, I have to serve the veggies with ranch dressing. She happily dips all her vegetables in the ranch- but hey- she’s eating them so that’s all I care about.

I’m not 100% organic but I do try to buy the “dirty dozen” organic:

Whether you are on a budget and need to prioritize your organic purchases, or you would simply like to know which type of produce has the highest pesticide residues—and which do not—the following guide from the Environmental Working Group will help:

When it comes to kids’ snacks, I LOVE and highly recommend the following organic snacks:
1) Anything Annie’s Homegrown: fruits bites, granola bars, pretzel or cheddar bunnies, bunny grahams etc. .
2) Snikiddy Mac n Cheese Puffs or All Natural Baked Fries
Last night, I came across Annie’s Homegrown Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese. Since I have limited resources this week and need something quick and easy. .  (and something I know Madeline (my youngest will always eat)), I bought a box. Yes, more expensive than Kraft but tastes a heck of a lot better and better, organic ingredients . . check out the reviews on .  you can also buy in bulk online at Amazon (pack of 12 for $21.03).
So, next time you’re at the grocery store, grab one and try it out! If you’ve got kids, you’ll always need some instant, quick mac n cheese.

I added nothing to this except what was in the box. Certainly looks better than Kraft Mac n Cheese.

It’s not gourmet but thankfully our kids aren’t too picky. .

Quick and easy mac n cheese for your kids!
